Supported Charities

Thanksdr.co.uk will donate 10% of net profits to the following charities that have an aim of "making doctors accessible". When you submit a question you can vote for which charity you would like to receive the money and we will divide it up accordingly. So when you get help from our doctors, someone who most needs a doctor gets help too.

Freedom from Fistula
The Freedom From Fistula Foundation aims to help eradicate obstetric fistula and ensure women in Africa have access to healthcare during pregnancy and childbirth.  An estimated two million women in Africa suffer silently with obstetric fistula which renders them incontinent and usually occurs during an obstructed labour when emergency care is unavailable.  The Foundation provides free medical care to repair these women, as well as maternity services, transportation and hospital equipment when required.

Operation Smile

Operation Smile provides free treatment to repair cleft lip, cleft palate and other facial deformities for children around the globe. More than 200,000 children are born with a severe cleft condition each year - often unable to eat, speak, socialise or smile. In some places these children are shunned and rejected.

Through the help of dedicated medical volunteers, Operation Smile has provided free operations to children in more than 50 countries, healing their smiles and bringing hope for a better future. In addition to providing free medical treatment, Operation Smile trains local medical professionals in its 42 partner countries and leaves behind crucial equipment to lay the groundwork for long-term self-sufficiency.

Please help give more children a smile that will last forever.

Sightsavers
There are 45 million people in world who are blind and around 90% of these people live in the developing world, yet 75% of all blindness is either avoidable or treatable. For over 50 years, Sightsavers has been working with local partners to combat blindness in developing countries and support people who are blind. During this time we have helped restore sight to more than five million people and treated over 100 million for potentially blinding conditions. We are passionate about providing people who are irreversibly blind with the skills to live a more independent life; we achieve this through our inclusive training and education programmes. Sightsavers’ work makes an impact and your support will help transform more lives.
