Sexual problems Questions

Am I at risks of STDs?

Hi I had multiple sexual partners during the last year and a few of them are sex workers. On all occasions, I used condoms for both vaginal penetration and oral sex, but not protected for hand jobs(mutual). If I'm with a sex worker, I only spent a few minutes inside her genital and never cum inside just to reduce the chance of breaking the condom, etc. My last encounter was with a sex worker 5 days ago. After 3 days later, I started to have a flu-like symptoms and I had a clear penile discharge after masturbation(not always and I might have them before, but just started to notice them due to my paranoia after the research about symptoms online). It's also worth mentioning that I went out 2 nights in a row(in cold and rainy weather) and get drunk after the last encounter and had very little sleep(which might lead to a common cold/flu?). What I would like to know is that could those symptoms be due to STDs, and if they are what kind of tests should I get? To be perfectly honest, I wouldn't worry too much about anything else apart from HIV, considering my actions which lead to this situation. So, I would also like to know what would be the chances of me catching HIV from those encounters. Thanks

    erection/ sex drive

I have a serious issue with my erection which is affecting my marriage. When my wife and i have sex i only go hard enough to have sex but not to penetrate her fully, it the same with oral sex when i only go to a semi erection and its really getting her and me down as she thinks she doesnt turn me on. I also dont last very long (as in 2-3 minutes) So she gets that 30 seconds of my penis bulging when im orgasming which she loves but that is all i can give her. Then id love to do it again after but it can take me an hour to recover. I have had the same problem since i started having sex and this as come to a point where iv now discussed with my wife and she as admitted its really getting her down and close to ending our marriage. I have looked on various websites regarding tablets but dont know which ones to trust. All i want to do is make my wife happy in bed and i cant with me coming prematurely and not getting fully hard until climax and then just going straight flat after so not being able to do it again to please her and me. I love her more than anything and it isnt that she doesnt turn me on or im not confident. I have looked on various websites and im not overweight, i dont smoke, rarely drink and am healthy so dont know why i cant be normal. I dont want to dissapoint her anymore, I dont know where or what to turn to for the best

    std/hiv

I foolishly had oral ( her to me) sex and vaginal sex ,protected, with an escort,( local, british) we also kissed, this happened last week and i am at my wits end that i have ruined my life it will never happen again...

Non-existant sex drive - could I be asexual or need treatment?

I've never been in a relationship and have never, even as a teenager, been interested in sex. I have literally no sex drive and find it really hard to relate to those around me who seem so obsessed with sex. It's really starting to depress me because I feel pressured by the world to not be single and want sex. Having read about asexuality online some of the descriptions fit. I do long for close relationships with others and 'fall for' people but I have no drive for sex at all. Is this a normal thing that some people are just like, or is there something wrong that might need treating? (Not sure what details you need in order to help advise so if there is anything missing please ask) Thanks

    erectile problem

i masterbate to porn quiet alot at least once a day and come times more, it seems more of a habit than necesity. in the last month or two i struggle to get an erection during masterbation, and when i was with my partner i would stay hard while doing physical activity, but as soon as that stimulus would stop i would lose the erection. i also dont seem to be noticing waking up with an erection. the glands up the tip of the penis seem to be a little firm on the left side. i am 30 and concerned that i have erectile dysfunction, is this the case or just a case of desensitisation by too much masterbation. many thanks

    Sexual health

Hello Sir/Madam I am writing to you today to discuss a problem I’ve had for a very long time and need to find a long term solution for. I have had problems with keeping an erect penis since I can remember, I can get an erection, but this only lasts a few seconds and then I go soft again. I noticed this problem first when I was 21 and tried sex for the first time. It happened on every occasion so I went to the doctor thinking that I had ED and he said that I was either too anxious or nervous so he gave me some Viagra to try hoping that would solve the issue and regulate my body. I took half a pill of Viagra and it worked and solved the problem. However when the Viagra prescription ran out the problem returned almost straight away, I then went to a sexual health doctor who said that I was not impotent and that maybe the problem was psychological. I later remembered that when I was 14 I had an accident, I was erect one night and I got up in the middle of the night and collided against something very hard, the collision was right on my penis and I heard a 'crack' noise. I noticed the next day that I had some marks at the shaft of my penis and that maybe I had damaged something that will get better soon although I was too young at the time and didn’t think anything of it. I later noticed that I still have those marks on the shaft of my penis even now. I feel that the problem that I have is not impotence or ED as I can get an erection easily and get strong nocturnal erections sometimes but I can’t hold it more then a few seconds. However I feel the accident that I had is the reason why I cannot maintain an erection and that I suspect that I either have a venous leak and one of my veins in my penis has been permanently damaged. Having said that when I took Viagra I was very hard for a long time and it definitely does the trick. I don’t want to think about a penile operation as I have found out that they are very costly and sometimes the desired result is not achieved. I however fear what a long term use of Viagra will have on my body as I am only 29. I don’t know what to do and this problem has destroyed my sex life since I can remember. I hope you can advice me on what would be best for me in the long run, Viagra or maybe an herbal alternative? Your help will be much appreciated doctor. Kind regards **

    HIV Risk infection - question

Good afternoon, I did something really stupid about two weeks ago and am really worried right now. I did a little bit of dipping with a man in his 40s without a condom. The facts are below. I would appreciate if you could tell me your views on the actual risk I took. - I am 26 yrs old and circumsized, - I have penetrated him about 4 times, all in all for less than 1 minutes, - I have asked him if he was clear, afterwards and he replied 'Yeah, I am... are you?' - I was negative before this incident - I know that, - there was no blood or rectal secretions on my penis as far as I could see and feel, - There was a swimming pool where we were, and I jumped in there afterwards to 'clean' myself and my penis - hoping chloring would help, - I have never had any STD before, and after 1.5 weeks, it doesn't look like I have caught any STD like herpes, or syphilis - I have read about symptoms online... even though I had sex several times with one of my ex-girlfriend who had a bit of herpes at some point. I know that even if someone tells you that he is negative, it doesn't mean that he is, hence my worry. My question is more about the actual risk behind dipping while you are the insertive partner with a man who says he is negative. If we pretend for a second that he is positive, what are the risks from such a 'brief' penetration? Thanks a lot for your feedback in advance.

    Confused and worried

Can anyone help me? 16 weeks ago I am pretty sure I had some unprotected sexual contact with a lapdancer (I was very drunk - no excuse for behaviour though). Had tests at 10 days all neg. 4 weeks for hiv. 12 weeks for hiv, hep b & C. 15 weeks hiv, syph and hep c - all neg. esr, crp and liver function bloods at 4 & 15 weeks - all normal. Had hep b booster 10 days. Already had hep b vacc, level was tested and ok for cover (1,000mlu/ml) After 10 days developed burning sensation in neck forearms and lower leg. Also had pins and needles. Was obviously very stressed and anxious. From about 5 weeks on burning got very intense moved into fingers and feet and palms felt like I was holding hot coals, also had numb hands at night sometimes both at same time. Also had all the usual anxiety/ stress symptoms. Disappeared around about 12 weeks - came back briefly. Still have the odd minor sensation on and off and numb hands at night (not as much as before) At 14 weeks started to notice soft pale stools and started to get very weak with sore muscles and joints ( felt a bit like this anyway from stress. had blood tests and hiv, hepc and syph at 15 weeks since then i.e this last week started to feel worse and worse. Cannot function so sore and weak. Sore abdomen esp right side, feels itchy over this area and "full" feeling. Stools not so light now but am having 5 or 6 bowel movements a day and frequent urination. Talked to own doctor re all this. I am worried re hep he says not hep. He thinks more an anxiety issue (IBS etc) or some other bowel problems. Sorry for long history but don't think I can cope much longer , feel so bad I really hope someone can shed some light on this Many thanks

    tetralysal 300 and chlamydia

A sexual partner, after an annual check up, tells me she has chlamydia. When I had unprotected intercourse with her I had been taking for 4 weeks, and still am taking, tetralysal 300 for acne rosacea, one capsule a day. Would this have protected me from catching Chlamydia? I have read it is prescribed for treating chlamydia so if I continue taking it, and upping the dosage, would this clear it?

I was having sex with my girlfriend. i was in the doggystyle position and it was uncomfortable for me (reall tight around my uretha) then when i ejaculated i felt a slight pain and then all was ok. when i pulled out i noticed there was blood in my semen. However since i have been for a wee and not painful no blood. just when i brush my fingers up and down my urethra i can feel the point where the pain was as it tingles like its been cut. should i be worried?

Husband's Erectile Dysfunction, stomach ulcer and high blood pressure

My husband is 52 and has suffered with ED for the last couple of years. His GP originally presribed Viagra which aggravated his stomach ulcer so he did not repeat the prescription. He has also tried Cialis which again was slightly irritating to his stomach (although not as much as Viagra). He has successfully been using a herbal tablet for ED (V-RXV) for some time but on the last two occasions it has irritated his stomach and in fact a couple of nights ago he was quite poorly and said he felt as though his ulcer was bleeding (this happened previously on an occasion when he was taking a lot of ibuprofen for another condition). To complicate matters he has recently been diagnosed with high blood pressure (for which he has been prescribed lisinopril) and he also has a pacemaker to control tachy-brady syndrome. He and I feel that does not make much progress with his GP (not sure if should have even prescribed Viagra given my husband's other medical problems) and he has a very busy, high pressure job which makes it difficult for him to get to the surgery. I would welcome your advice as to how we can treat his ED without aggravating his other conditions. Many thanks

    Saliva and STDs

Hi Doctor, I had a sexual intercourse with an escort on Friday/Satuday which was protected, I mean I used a condom. However, she bled a little, whether it was due to the fact the she was on her period or because of the size of my penis I don't know. But the blood was only visible on the tip of the condom. She then sucked the blood of the condom and after about 5-10 minutes of further sexual contact, she took the condom off and spat on my penis as a mean of lubrication when giving me a HAND job. No oral or other contact, only using her hand I am not sure whether the blood was visibly present in her spit, I doubt it, or rather, want to doubt it. Honestly, I am not sure. From what I understand saliva is 'safe', in a sense that it can not carry STDs, especially things like HIV. Is that correct? My concern is that there was some blood and clearly some blood cells stayed in escort's mouth then sucking it of the condom. I am also not sure whether any of the 'lubricant' got inside my penis, in the urinal cord, or whatever it is called. Again I doubt it did, but I am not sure. So finally my question is, how exposed am I to STDs through this kind of contact? And if I am, what kind of things am I more likely to catch? Should I get checked? Thank you for your help. Kind Regards, *****

I'm worried about HIV - can you help?

Hi - this may help if i can give some background info first....... I'm 42 - my wife also 42. I've never been what you'd call promiscuous, but 'went off the rails' a little in 2004, after I'd found out a girl i'd been seeing for almost a year had slept around......I kind of went a little mad after we'd split and had unprotected sex with about 4 women - which i deeply regret now! In fact, one of the women i later found out had worked as a prostitute! I was horrified! In September 2004 i went to the local GUM clinic to get checked out, ALL STD tests (inc HIV) were negative. Just before I met my wife, i slept with one other woman (also unprotected), but then at the very end of 2004, got together with the most fantastic woman i've ever met! My wife! Everything was fine until about June 2006, I started getting a burning sensation when I peed. After another trip to the GUM clinic (my wife also went with me too) we BOTH checked out negative on all tests, including HIV. The only thing they found on me was non specific Urethritis, which cleared up after a treatment of anti-biotics. After both of us getting the all-clear, I forgot about everything and got on with my life.........until last November. When a few people stared saying I'd lost weight (i do go swimming) but it played on my mind.......and the fears of HIV (and how stupid i was in my single days) came flooding back....to the point now that i can't shake this fear that the test results were wrong somehow. My fears were somewhat increased when i started getting pain upon ejaculation around the same time, discomfort in my groin and testicles. I've since seen a urolgy specialist who diagnosed Prostatitis. I've taken 6 weeks of Trimethroprim 400mg a day, but it doesn't seem to have cleared it up. A urine sample tested positive for the bacteria B hemolyptic Strep - I've got a follow up with the specialist in August. My wife thinks i'm daft to think I've got something wrong with me, as we both had the all-clear at the GUM clinic in 2006 ........but now i remember my wife coming down with Glandular Fever last year. She was off work for 3 weeks, and i'm now thinking was THAT anything to do with HIV.!! I'm aware that the 90 day HIV test checks the anti-bodies in the blood - but i've since heard that not everyone has these antibodies. I feel this overwhelming guilt that i might have passed something on to my wife, despite the negative results! So i guess my overall question is, given what i've told you, am I worrying needlessly about test results being wrong and is HIV likely to be the cause behind my Prostatitis and the wife's glandular Fever? We are also trying for a baby - with no success as yet! Thanks in advance
