Problem with menstrual cycle I am 20 years old, no history of medical problems other than migraines, which are genetic in my case, for these I take paracetamol and occasionally, aspirin. I have a slight, but constant pain in my right side, that can occasionally also be felt in the left, also and I am experiencing secondary amenorrhea. (These symptoms have been occuring for about 2 weeks). About three weeks ago, I began exercising fairly intensely (an hour or so a day), and did this for a week, but when I began experiencing the abdominal pain, I stopped, as I thought it might be muscular strain, the pain didn't stop however and my period is about 10 days late. I'm pretty sure I ovulated, as I had my usual mid-cycle discomfort and change in cervical mucus. I even had symptoms of PMS around the time my period should have come, but it hasn't... should I be worried? I have quite a busy lifestyle, I am a full-time student as well as being on the organising committee of a monthly Christian event and being the lead singer/guitarist in a band, so I guess stress could be an issue...

Question about period About 2 1/2 years ago had problem with period never been regular but was getting really bad pain, sickness,also had back pain, very heavy bleeding very clotty went to doctors had scan nothing wrong then within about 6 months very bad back pain and period stopped had nothing got the sweats so I put it down to going through the change I am also so now 45 years old about 42-43 when this happened so now had bad back for 2 weeks and know started period again is this normal. I never go to the doctors unless I know something is different or wrong when this first happened I went to the doctors said something is wrong with my period my body is acting different and they could not put their finger on it

Period has come early Hi, Im on the combined contraceptive pill and my periods are always very regular. However, I appear to have started my period 4 days early! Ive got cramps and quite a lot of bleeding despite the fact I only took the last pill in the pack on tuesday night and i dont normally start bleeding until the saturday.... Also, for the last few days ive been feeling nauseous quite a lot! I have taken 2 home pregnancy tests which have both come back negative. I have also been feeling light headed. Could I be pregnant but its too early to tell (despite being on the pill)? If not, what else could be causing it? Im starting to worry!

Birth Control I've been taking Loestrin 24 oral for the last year and have almost never had a period. There is every so often some small spotting during when I take a week break from the pill but in general I never have a period. Is this ok??

Baby's position for birth Hi I am 37 weeks pregnant with my second child. At a routine antinatal my midwife said that my baby is head down but the head is not in line with my pelvis, just off towards my hip and I'm therefore not engaged yet. I'm aware that babies heads often don't engage until birth ( my sons didn't) but she also said that if my waters broke first, there might be a danger that the umbilical cord could drop out of me first because the head isn't in the pelvis and that I should get on all fours quickly and call an ambulance. This has now scared me a bit. Do most 'un' engaged heads still present themselves directly in line with the pelvis then? Is my baby in an unsual position ? Many thanks

Thursh but canesten not working Hi I have had redness and itching in my vaginal area on and off on a regular basis for many years now. Every doctor I see sends me away with canesten or stronger canesten in various forms but it doesnt seem to help, in fact on applying the canesten cream sometimes it stings quite a bit and I have to wash if off. For a while I started noticing a smelly discharge that was a yellowy colour, I thought it might be bacterial vaginosis so I self medicated with repHresh from the chemist and it cleared up the discharge and smell almost instantly and it has not returned. The itching and redness won't seem to go away however. There doesnt seem to be any pattern other than if I eat alot of sugary foods it tends to be worse. It is also only apparent at night usually. During the day I rarely notice any itching. I have a small lump on my labia minora, I asked a doctor about it a while ago when it was much smaller and she said everyone has different lumps and bumps and its probably nothing. The itching sometimes seems like it centres around this lump which is the same colour as the skin around it and not painful. It seems to me that it has also increased in size though very gradually as the first time I noticedit was aorund 8 years ago when I was 15 and first complaining of the itching etc. At the moment the skin seems especially fragile and red and i have noticed a slight bump which is quite painful just inside the lips of my genitals and it is a whiter colour than the rest of the skin surrounding it. I have had a recent full STI screen andit came back negative for everything. what is wrong with me? I have lost faith a bit in constant GP appointments as it never seems to help!

gynie I have constant discharge, not always yellow, sometimes clear. I have no other symptoms. I feel wet all the time, and wear a panty liner every day. The amount I lose is consistent but constant. I have been tested for thrush but all clear. This all started after a very bad urine infection, which caused lesions. My GP thought it was herpies but test showed urine and water intection. What could this be?

Endometriosis I am having chronic pain in my right and left lower abdomen just above the level of the appendix. I have had a scan and it did show that there might might be some diverticular disease and an adhesion but was thought that these were not enough to be the cause of chronic pain. I am also finding bowel movements difficult. It is now looking like it might be endometriosis. In Nov 2008 I had a total Hysterectomy due to having cancer risk(complex atypical hyperplasia). After I was put on HRT . Currently taking 1mg Sandrena Gel(Estrogen) and 200mg Utrogestron (Progestrone). Obviously current HRT not suppressing the endometriosis. What other drugs treatment would I have available given that I have had total hysterectomy (including ovaries removed). Thanks for your help

I am aged 51 My periods have been very heavy lately. I had a small bleed whitsun week for 3 days Very light so thought I might be starting my menopause. But I came on full blown two weeks ago and am still bleeding very heavily, to the degree of clots dropping into toilet water still. I felt a 'twang' at the beginning of the bleed on right hand side of gut and notice this area when I cough. Not sure if any significance?

anxiety over causes of a miscarriage I am trying to help a person with anxiety and mental health issues who 17 years ago may or may not have been up to 31 days pregnant and is worried that any of the following actions may have caused a miscarriage. 1 As a vegetarian she sporadically used a Holland and Barratt,adult formulation,daily,high potency multi-vitamin and mineral tablet (which included vitamin A). Also on one occasion took 2 tablets instead of one which gives particular concern. As this was 17 years ago dont know about vitamin legislation in uk at that time or concentration or if use cautioned against during pregnancy. 2 Occasional use of neat chamomile and peppermint essential oils on temples and wrists to aid concentration. 3 Absent mindedly drumming on stomach with flat palms in time to music. 4 Exceeding the recommended dose of over the counter herbal throat sweets(olbas pastilles).

unprotected sex hi i slept with my bf on monday night we didn't use anything but he didn't ejaculate inside me could i still become pregnant ? my last period started on the 6th may please help as im worried

my ex girlfriend is pregnant, im sterile ! I had a vasectomy approx 7 years ago after deciding i didnt want any more children with my childrens mother, or any other female. We split up 4 years ago and I have had 3 sexual partners since we split. The results came back as negative. I have just found out that my x girlfriend is 12weeks pregnant. I have just had the results of another sperm count, and the results are still negative. My x partner is insisting that iam the father. What can i do as my x partner says it is mine. I dont beleave her.

Contraceptive implant vomiting I had a medicaL termination of preganancy two weeks ago, no complications. I had the contraceptive implant fitted at the time but yeasterday had to have it removed, was put on antibiotics flucloxacillin 250 mg today i have vomited a few times although i do not feel ill is this anything to be worried about

e.g. I have a problem with my.... I am postmenopausal but still sexually active and I find sexual intercourse initially uncomfortable without the use of KY. Unfortunately this reduces the pleasure for my husband as he finds the loss of friction a problem and the longer sexual intercourse lasts the worse it gets for him as my vagina stretches as well but it is then better for me. How can we overcome this problem?

Medical abortion. Pregnany tests still positive. I was pregnant and had a medical abortion. Pregnany tests still show I am pregnant!
