Sexual problems Questions

    e.g. I have a problem with my....

I am postmenopausal but still sexually active and I find sexual intercourse initially uncomfortable without the use of KY. Unfortunately this reduces the pleasure for my husband as he finds the loss of friction a problem and the longer sexual intercourse lasts the worse it gets for him as my vagina stretches as well but it is then better for me. How can we overcome this problem?

Dry blood and vaginal wall deposits on sheets and after sex

Hi there, i'm 26 and have had only 1 sexual partner (but we are only sleeping together on a 'friends with benefit basis at the moment so it's not a regular thing). Recently during sex I've noticed dry smears of blood on the sheets and what looks like bits of my vagina canal wall. We use protection, but for the last few months I've stopped using the pill (as i'm not near my GP at the moment to get another supply). Also, for a few days after sex I get a brown discharge and slight itching, which then goes away within a week. Could the smears and bits of vanginal wall be due to my vagina being a little dry? Or could it be the condoms (i've heard women can be alleric to the rubber or spermicide) or could there be a further problem, of polyp etc? Please can you help, and suggest anything I can do other than visiting my GP (as i've stated i'm away from home at the moment and wont be able to get there till september)

    sex question

I have recently become sexually active and have had sex quite a few times but I have noticed that my hymen is still intact. Also it hurts every time I have sex I am very confused as i thought the hymen broke when sex was taking place I thought I definatly had sex because I felt him inside me but would like some advice on the matter Also should I go and see my dr about this.

Could a relapse of herpes symptoms have been mistaken for a primary occurrence due to steroids?

After a few weeks with my boyfriend, things progressed sexually and within a week I had severe symptoms of genital hsv1 (swollen glands, fever, aches, multiple blisters). This was 15 weeks since my previous boyfriend. A positive swab test was done at the time of the symptoms. A blood test 2 weeks after contact (15/16 weeks after previous partner )was negative, with a repeat test positive 11 weeks later. At the time, I accepted the ‘blame’ as my previous partner did suffer from cold sores a few days after contact and because my new boyfriend had been in a monogamous relationship for a long time and denied any knowledge of ever having cold sores, and because I had not done as much research as I have now. My boyfriend got tested negative (I think he had a blood test), but I never saw the results so can't be sure) around the time I was tested. However, I have a history of soreness/minor cuts (definitely no blisters/fever etc) which was previously investigated and diagnosed as eczema and hydrocortisone prescribed. When I started with the HSV1 I applied hydrocortisone daily (not realising it was HSV1) but stopped as soon as the ulcers started to appear as I recognised these as possibly HSV. Could the hydrocortisone have suppressed my immune system enough for a normal flare up of an ongoing HSV1 (undiagnosed) to appear dramatically severe enough to be deemed a primary outbreak rather than a recurrence - the doctor considered it was a primary infection, but I thought it more likely at the time that the partner with a history of cold sores had given me it and what I was seeing was a recurrence. (hence I took the 'blame'). After much research, I am left with the conclusion that I contracted the virus from the boyfriend at the time (now -ex) rather than the previous partner(due to severity of symptoms etc and test results but it's niggling me that the hydrocortisone could have influenced the immune response making a recurrence - due to prior infection from 1st partner - look like the 1st exposure). I feel I need to speak my ex ( I have already spokent to the previous partner) to let him know so he can be re-tested; I don’t want him to pass this on to anyone else and I would appreciate an informed opinion before I speak to him. I know it doesn‘t matter who gave me it, but it would help me get some kind of closure if I had some expert feedback. Thanks in advance for your response.
