Bleeding following a cone biopsy
I had a cone biospy on 30/09/10. I had little to no bleeding during and after the procedure, but started to bleed very heavily (and produce large clots) around a week later.
I went back into hospital on 06/10/10 (the same day my heavy bleeding appeared) for an overnight stay, where they put another pack inside my vagina to stop the bleeding. The morning after they removed it and I was sent home later that day as there was no further bleeding, with more antibiotics at a stronger dosage and for a longer course, as my consultant said it was probably a small infection causing it all.
I have been fine all last week (and the bleeding even appeared to stop altogether by 13/10/10, with just a slightly heavier than normal discharge).
However, I appear to have some spotting again this morning (which was fresh looking blood this morning, but appears to now more light red/brown), which is worrying me somewhat as this is how the heavy bleeding began some 10 days ago.
I have also had intercourse with my boyfriend over the weekend, as when I was in hospital the 2nd time, the gynacologist consultant said it was ok after 10 days or so from the date of the op (and seen as my bleeding had stopped during the week, I thought all was ok).
Now I'm worried we've had sex too early and worried I'm caught another infection! I don't want to go back to hospital and bleed heavily again, but I'm very anxious.
Cramping has also been minimal throughout all of this, but I have experience some slight ones over the weekend (and today), although I'm unsure if they are genuine cramps or more pyschological!
Can you advise me if such bleeding is normal? And what my course of action is to ensure I heal well? Unfortunately, I haven't really been advised much by my consultant or nurses etc.
Thanks
